Oh, and here's something. Apparently Gene Simmons came out and said that downloading music for free is equavalent to murder. Thats right. He's says that "just a few songs" is like "just a few little killings." They add up he says, and one song is still stealing. Right Gene. Dont forget Simmons is worth $100 million and I bet that small amount of cash he loses (one song probably only would give him a quarter) really isnt much to him, but comparable to murder apparently.
Wow. Krugman's latest piece is the best I've seen of comparing Iraq to Vietnam. Its a great look at how Bush is using "Nixonian" politics to cover his ass, you know, trying to put down dissent amongst the people and the same idea of American strenght being shown as American weakness. Excellent Mr. Krugman.
No article this week, wait til next week. I'm doing it on Condi Rice and the refusal to take responsibility by the Bush team.

Two good articles in the NY times today. One is Krugman's and the other is Brook's. Both discuss similar things, but of course are on opposite sides of the political spectrum. The funny thing is Brooks makes a good point, one I've heard from democrats and many republicans lately. He believes the administration was naive, ill-prepared and blasts them for sending unprepared troops as well. (i.e. Hummers without enough armor to withstand an attack) Krugman does mention some of that, but his points are more along the lines of asking why Bush is still living outside of reality and why they think if they kill another insurgent leader, Iraq will get better.
If you want, I did get published last week, so check it out.

Hey all. Another interested Krugman column to end the week. It seems Wolf Blitzer wrote him back about comments from his recent column on the smearing and character assassination by the White House. Good stuff. I also have another article printed. This week was on Education Commisioner Cheri Pierson Yecke's Education Standards and the crock of shit they are. But bad news/good news in that 308,000 jobs were created in March, allowing Bush to claim that the economy is doing well. Of course, that leaves out the slight increase in unemployment to 5.7 percent and the millions still out of work and the sins of the Bush Administration. Four more years and we could have Patriot Act II, a dismantled health system, privatized social security, and god knows what. Stay tuned.
